Campfire alpine toque

The other day i went to Joannes to grab more yarn to continue making Christmas gifts for my family. While i was there i dug through the discount bin, and i found this beautiful yarn. Unfortunately the pompom i grabbed to go with it is way to big for the toque.

I decided to work up a new hat. I love it so much i think i might actually keep it for myself. This is the alpine campfire toque. It combines double crochets and chain 1's to give it a break up in the pattern and the alpine stitch gives it a wonderful cozy texture.
