Last week i started on my Christmas presents for my family. I chose to start on my husbands first. I wanted to make him a thick warm blanket that he could take with him to drill and keep him warm in the barracks. I found two stitches I really liked. The bean stitch, and the herringbone double crochet stitch. After thinking about it for awhile i chose to just combine both stitches in one blanket. Not a life changing revelation, i know. The stitches are thick, and if crocheted tight enough, there aren't any holes to let cool air in. Perfect for his permanently cold feet.
The colors i chose remind me of a latte. I chose a soft white to go on top of the latte stripe to act as the "foam." You will need to know two special stitches. The bean stitch, and the herringbone double crochet. I have put descriptions of how to make them in my pattern. This blanket is fairly easy and is great to work on while zoning out and watching Netflix.
The number of skeins of yarn you will need depends on the size of blanket you are wanting. This is also my very first pattern so I really hope you enjoy it as much as i have enjoyed working this up!

If you have any questions about the pattern feel free to reach out! I would love to hear from you! Happy crocheting.
